A statement issued from the Council of Arab Ambassadors

In a statement, the Embassy of The State of Palestine announced that the Council of Ambassadors of the Arab States accredited in The Republic of Poland simultaneously had sent correspondence with the equal content addressed to HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of Poland, HE Speaker of the Sejm of The Republic of Poland and HE Speaker of the Senate of The Republic of Poland, in which the plans of Israel to annex Palestinian lands, during the international community's focus on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, have been condemned.

The correspondence referred to declarations made by numerous Eastern European and Baltic Sea basin countries on the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, stating that: ‘Sustainable security, stability, and peace in the world require absolute respect for international law and principles, including respect for the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of countries.’.

The Council of Ambassadors of the Arab States underlined in the abovementioned correspondence that the Israeli plans to eradicate Palestinian lands posed a threat to the entire Region, also due to the rise of religious conflicts. Additionally, the Council called for focusing the international efforts, including the European Union and Poland, on opposing the Israeli scenario. The Council also pointed to the possibility of maintaining peace by adopting a two-state solution. Furthermore, the Council recognized The Republic of Poland as a responsible entity active on the international community forum. Poland, as a former non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, tirelessly undertakes initiatives to care for order, justice and peace in the world. Poland plays an active role in counteracting the Israeli annexation plans.

The Council of Ambassadors expressed appreciation for the unchanging attitude of the Government of The Republic of Poland towards the two-state solution. Their Excellencies Ambassadors of the Arab states also referred to the decisions of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Arab States, pointing to the need for peaceful coexistence of the Arab states and the adoption of a two-state solution, The State of Palestine and The State of Israel.

The Arab states deeply believe in peace and trust that reliable and honest negotiations based on the credibility of their interlocutors can bring justice to the solution of the so-called Palestinian issue, and can lead to a reconciliation of lasting peace based on international law, including the United Nations Security Council resolutions and peace initiatives raised by the Arab world. These are steps towards achieving security, stability and development. The Arab world is ready to join efforts and cooperate with the international community to end the unlawful occupation of Israel. The Arab world does declare its support for the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem. Such a solution guarantees a definitive and fair end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, bringing peace and security in the whole Region.
