The relationships between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Poland have witnessed rapid developments in recent years, especially in terms of economic relations, as the State of Qatar is the main supplier of liquefied natural gas to the Republic of Poland. More over the bilateral relationship have also developed in terms of the exchange of official visits at all levels, where the most recent official was the visit of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, , to the Republic of Poland on 05.07.2024. Most Polish media and political circles in Poland paid great attention to the visit, and stressed that it will strengthen relations between the two countries in the political, economic and commercial fields.
Polish governments consider the State of Qatar as one of the countries of moderation and stability in the region, and the officials express positively about itis role. The Republic of Poland highly appreciates the efforts of the State of Qatar in resolving international disputes, in addition to the State of Qatar enjoys a good reputation among Polish public opinion, through its humanitarian aid in The world.
Hosting of the FIFA World Cup (FIFA-Qatar 2022) which played a major role in confirming the reputation through the good hospitality and the great interaction they found in Qatar. The two countries have similar views regarding many international and regional issues of mutual interests, as a result the two countries exchange support in a number of international institutions and organizations.

Saoud bin Abdulla Zaid Al-Mahmoud
Information: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Poland Since July 2024.
Academic Qualifications
- Obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University, USA, 1985
- He also obtained a master's degree in management from Southwestern University, UK, 1988
Work Experience
- 1992-1995: Worked in the office of the Minister of Interior and Director General of Public Security.
- 2000: He was seconded by the Ministry of the Interior to work in the International Police Organization (Interpol) in France.
- 2001 - 2006: Worked as Director of North Africa and the Middle East in (Interpol).
- 2012-2015: He was selected as a member of the Interpol Executive Committee.
- 2014-2017: Worked as an extraordinary plenipotentiary ambassador at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Russian Federation.
- 2018-2021: Worked as an extraordinary plenipotentiary ambassador at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Canada.
- Mr. H.E Ambassador Saoud bin Abdullah Zaid Al-Mahmoud was appointed Director of European Affairs Department in accordance with Decision No. (65) of 2021, issued by his Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Honors and awards
- Received the Order of Knight of the Legion of Honor, the highest French honor, July 8, 2014, received from President Hollande.
- Certificate of Honor from the Secretary General of INTERPOL in recognition of his professional services to INTERPOL as Assistant Director for the Middle East and North Africa during his secondment to the General Secretariat from August 1999 to December 2006.
