The Qatari-Polish relations extends to the long time, despite the establishment of the embassies of the two countries, relatively soon. Poland was one of the first countries to recognize the State of Qatar after the declaration of independence in 1971 and has supported the efforts of Qatar for its accession to the United Nations Organization, while formally established diplomatic relations in September 1989.

Polish Embassy in Qatar was established on 1 September 2006, and the official opening took place on April 28, 2007 year. Qatari authorities based on reciprocity, have decided to open embassies in Poland in June 2007 and start-up took place April 17, 2008.
