All citizens of the State of Qatar planning to return to Doha are required to undergo a coronavirus (COVID-19) test no later than 48 hours before the travel. Laboratories must meet the following requirements:
- in the case of hospital laboratories, they are demanded to possess CAP certification or a certificate issued in accordance with the laws and regulations of the state in relation to the detection of COVID-19 cases (CPR)
- the tests are obligated to have the EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) / FDA certification
- the tests must be included in the FUL list established by the WHO
- it is also allowed to use the tests approved by other international regulatory bodies (CE marking).
As for the information contained in the documentation of the test results, the following are required:
- complete personal data of the patient tested for COVID-19 (including passport number)
- test type: PCR
- type of smear performed: throat or nose
- test date
- test result with its possible interpretation
- the full name and address of the laboratory which has tested the sample.
